One of AAMSAZ’s goals is to be the primary repository for the preservation, digitization, and care of your items. AAMSAZ’s historical artifacts, objects, documents, and photographs are here to represent the Southern Arizona community from over 150 years.
The AAMSAZ museum is a collective home for stories, artifacts, culture, genealogical data, and how it speaks to the African American human condition. AAMSAZ wants to expand its collections to represent the African American community in Southern Arizona. The collections are held in trust for the Southern Arizona community and for the world and are curated in perpetuity for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of current and future generations.
Please enjoy AAMSAZ as we expand our collection of artifacts, documents, photographs, and more! We want the various collections and resources to be available for teaching and studying the varied contributions of African Americans and Blacks in Southern Arizona. Our history can often live in boxes, basements, attics, closets, and various other storage areas. We appreciate your donated items from businesses, cultural activities, military service, and general daily life, as well as social, political, educational, and religious experiences.
